Our Community Facilities

WCC is working on a Community Facilities Network Plan to understand how Wellington’s community facilities are meeting our needs now and what might be needed in the future. The plan includes:

  • libraries

  • swimming pools

  • recreation centres

  • community centres

  • community spaces in city housing complexes

  • public toilets

  • other community facilities on Council land used by sports, recreation, arts, culture and community groups.

and will also look at non-council facilities, such as schools, churches, marae and private community facilities as these often fulfil similar functions in some areas.

Keep an eye on this page for updates:

You will be able to provide feedback on the draft plan when WCC carries out formal consultation in July 2023.
